Newcomers Seminars speakers for 2021

Newcomers Seminars aims is that every new researcher (postdoctoral senior or senior assistant) and also, visitor researchers with PhD, have the opportunity to introduce his/her self to IMDEA Energy staff. They will give us a 30 min presentation (plus 10 min questions), including a summary of their background as well as a description of their future work in IMDEA Energy. In principle, the Newcomers Seminars will have a monthly frequency and will be celebrate the last Friday of each month .

Due to COVID -19 Pandemic the seminars will be celebrated at the moment as an on-line event using GOTO MEETING tool.

A list of the expected speakers along 2020 can be see below:

Mohamad Zarei. Postdoctoral researcher in Electrical System Unit since February 2020. His research lines are control of electronic power converters; electrical machines drive; energy management systems, power system stability analysis, energy storage systems, microgrids.

His talk will take place on Friday 26th February 2021

Hector Hernando. Postdoctoral researcher in Thermochemical Processes Unit since January 2020. His research lines are related with the development of catalysts, production of fuels and fine chemicals from different types of biomass and plastic waste through thermochemical processes.

Santiago Ibanez works as postdoctoral researcher in Electrochemical processes Unit since February 2020. His interests are related with the development of simplified models of a broad field of fluid mechanics problems including electrosprays, geothermal heat exchangers, and flow batteries among others.

His talk will take place on Friday 30th April 2021

Ricardo Conceicao is postdoctoral researcher in High-Temperature Processes Unit  since May 2020. His research line is related with fouling in solar systems.

His talk will talk place on Friday 28th May 2021

Yolanda Cortes is Senior Assistant Researcher in Advanced Porous Materials Unit since January 2021. Her lines of research are focused on the development of new materials for photovoltaic devices as well as material design for their application in catalysis and photodegradation of emerging contaminants from water.

Her talk will take place on 25th June 2021

Paula Navalpotro is postdoctoral researcher in Electrochemical Processes Unit since March 2020. Her line of research is related with the study and development of new organic redox materials suitable for electrochemical energy storage devices
